Here are some of the tributes that have been paid to Marjorie Hunt from other former London Hospital Nurses and friends ....

Marj, she was my first ward sister in Gloucester, a new ward in 1961 on the ground floor. Male cardiology and general medicine. I was there until Christmas and was amazed at how much fun we had. She was always very sociable and held court in her office. When I became Sister Turner, following Trudy she was Sister Charrington and we had a good time in her office each morning having coffee with any doctors around. I spoke to her on the phone over Christmas 2014 and she sounded the same as ever, very cheerful. Barbara Thompson President of the RLH League of Nurses 13.02.16

Sad news. Condolences to all who loved her. I have fond memories of her when I was staffing on Turner Ward and she was Sister Charrington in 1970. Sheila Billins 13.02.16

I remember working on Charrington with her and nursing her god son on George,a great lady.RIP Jenny Witham 13.02.16

Such a fantastic role model when I was on my first ward, Charrington, and also as Night Superintendant. Always had words of encouragement. I remember Marg telling us that we could only offer a patient a wash; if the patient said they did not want a wash, then we were not to do it. She went on to explain that if they were at home and felt ill they wouldn't have a wash! Revolutionary views of patient care in 1971! RIP xxx Ruth Todd 13.02.16

I was a Night Charge Nurse in about 1978 and I well remember Miss Hunt who I think was known as Marg! In particular I remember Night Sisters breakfast at about 11pm when one of her catch phrases when referring to the bacon was "nice piece of bacon girls"! I still use the phrase to this day. May she RIP. Andrew Moore 13.02.16

I remember her as Night Superintendent, she was so caring and helpful with the most amazing sense of humour. I can remember being on nights on NSR on a very quiet night with one patient! She tucked me up and came next morning to check on the patient and me! I also remember on Buxton at night working with a friend, we tucked my friend up in a cot and when Marg did her ward round, she went to see "the patient" and Jenny jumped up and said Hallo. Poor Marg thought she was going to die laughing. Sad news today, love to all that knew her, she was inspirational woman. Sally Webber 13.02.16

Sad news. Dear Marj. Another of the memorable characters for whom there was great affection. Margaret Keith 13.02.16

She was a lovely lady. A sad day. Chris Smith 13.02.16
