Photographs from members of the RLH League of Nurses taken between 1939-1945


Luckes Home bombing 1939This photograph sent in as a cutting by Beryl Gould, that appeared in the newspaper at the time. It shows the destruction caused to Luckes Home in Stepney Way when a bomb was dropped on it during WW2.

You can see the onlookers in the foreground surveying the damage, including two Ward Sisters in their 'tails' along with a Student Nurse and others.

Beryl is the Student Nurse in the photograph without a cape on, to the right of the picture.
